Lawson’s Path to the NBA
Lawson initially joined the Toronto Raptors on April 11, 2023, converting from a two-way contract to a non-guaranteed standard NBA deal worth $2.4 million over two years. A two-way contract allows a player to play up to 50 regular-season games with the NBA team while also being eligible to play with the team’s G League affiliate.

During the 2023-2024 NBA season, the 25-year-old Lawson appeared in 26 games for the Toronto Raptors, averaging 9.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. He showcased his scoring ability with a career-high 32-point performance against the Washington wizards on March 10, 2024, and followed that up with 28 points against the Philadelphia 76ers in the Raptors’ next game.
