Metalex would soon start working on it as well. Pavel Škarka took care of the car’s

The biggest structural difference compared to the MTX Roadster is visible at first
glance. While the convertible derived from the Favorit had only one pair of doors, in
the case of the MTX Cabrio, the creators retained two pairs of doors. Therefore, the
interior retained two rows of seats.
further modifications included the installation of additional reinforcements to the floor
section and the installation of a protective arch between the seats. These modifications
were, of course, intended to improve the stiffness of the body, which suffered from the
removal of the roof and pillars.
The new roof was canvas and consisted of three layers. It was manually operated, and when
folded, the roof was stored behind the rear seats.This solution naturally required
meaningful changes to the rear – including a new laminate boot lid. Note also how the
space for the roof extends above the rear doors.
However, the space for the roof also affected the seating in the back.The three-seater
bench became a “spot” for two passengers, who also had to sit with their backs against
the backrests at almost right angles. Therefore, these were more of an emergency seating.
Metalex did not interfere with the powertrain; the convertible was available with the
same engines as the standard felicia - except for the diesel. The price started at around
half a million Czech crowns.
Perhaps this is why the MTX Cabrio did not become a hit; only around 30 units were
produced between 1997 and 2000.The specific figure varies depending on the source, but

We do not know how many of them have survived to the present day,but it certainly will
not be many. Therefore, we were interested to find one example for sale in a Czech
advertisement. The twenty-seventh piece from 1999 is being sold by the well-known Cabrio

powertrain is a 1300cc engine with an output of 50 kW (68 hp), and the mileage is about
