Rafflesia Hasseltii is one of the rarest and most elusive flowers in the world, belonging ⁣to the genus Rafflesia, ​known for its parasitic flowering plants. These plants lack stems, leaves, and ⁤roots,⁤ obtaining nutrients from their host vines.

The ‌rediscovery ‍is significant because Rafflesia Hasseltii is critically⁢ endangered, with very few​ known specimens remaining in⁣ the wild. According to the BBC, Deki expressed his elation, stating, “It has been 13 years of ​waiting.”

The ​Search for the‌ Flower

Deki and‌ his ⁣team dedicated nearly 13 years to⁢ finding the‍ flower, enduring 23 hours of trekking through challenging terrain. their search involved navigating dense jungle and steep⁤ hills, while also‍ being cautious ⁤of ‍the‍ tiger population⁣ inhabiting the forests.
