Expansion of Multimedia Education and Training Centers
A key component of the 2025 action plan is the construction of 30 new Multimedia Education and Training Centers (CMEF) in rural colleges. This initiative, stemming from the recommendations of the Estates General of National Education and Literacy, is projected to impact approximately 34,500 students across Côte d’Ivoire.
The Support Program for the Transformation of Basic Education (PATEB)
To address various challenges and projects within the education sector, MENA has established the Support Program for the Transformation of Basic Education (PATEB). The inaugural meeting of the PateB steering committee took place on March 12, 2025, under the guidance of Minister Mariatou koné. during this session, the committee approved the program’s budgeted annual work plan.
Key Actions Scheduled for 2025
According to Mr. N’Da Yao Ristide, Pateb coordinator, the program has several major actions planned for 2025:
- Construction of 440 pre-Primaire functional classrooms.
- Expansion of the CMEF system to over 90 rural primary schools, benefiting 90,000 students.
- Expansion of school health programs to 18,555 primary schools and 45 local colleges.
PATEB’s objectives and Vision
Pateb is designed to foster a lasting transformation of the Ivorian education system, ensuring a smoother transition between primary and secondary education while promoting equal opportunities for all students. The overarching goal is to create a school system centered on student success. Specifically, PateB aims to improve access, equity, and the quality of educational services, with a focus on gender equality.
As June 26, 2024, Pateb has been instrumental in revaluing the national educational offer, concentrating on sector reform and system-wide improvements.
