Reaching for the Stars: How China’s Space Medicine Pioneers are Paving the Way for Manned Moon Missions
China’s Space Station Makes Strides in Space Medicine for Future Deep Space Exploration
China’s space station has made significant progress in the field of space medicine, paving the way for future manned landings on the moon and other deep space exploration missions. This breakthrough was announced during the Second Space Medicine Forum, which took place in Hangzhou.
Experts and scientists gathered at the two-day forum to exchange cutting-edge theories and share trends in the development of space medicine. The event provided a platform for discussion and collaboration on the latest advancements in the field.
The Importance of Space Medicine in Manned Missions
Yang Liwei, deputy chief engineer of China’s manned space program and the country’s first taikonaut, emphasized the crucial role of space medicine in executing manned missions to land on the moon. “The technical support of space medicine is an indispensable part of the application and development stage of China’s space station,” he said during the opening ceremony.
Space Medicine and Public Health
Space medicine plays a vital role in promoting public health by providing theoretical support and a technical platform for the study of the cardiovascular and musculoskeletal systems, as well as the human aging process.
Li Yinghui, a researcher at the China Astronaut Research and Training Center, highlighted the importance of continued innovation in space medicine. “We will continue to improve on-orbit defense capabilities and build technical reserves for manned deep space exploration missions,” she said.
