Real Madrid Rout Minera in Copa del Rey

Real Madrid Rolls Past Minera in Copa del Rey Opener

Madrid, Spain – Real Madrid wasted no time asserting their dominance in the Copa del Rey, cruising to a resounding 7-0 victory over fourth-division side Minera on Tuesday night. Even without star goalkeeper Thibaut courtois, who was rested for the fixture, the reigning La Liga champions showcased their superior skill and depth, leaving their lower-league opponents with no answers.

Veteran midfielder Luka Modric, at the ripe age of 39, opened the scoring with a clinical finish, marking his first-ever Copa del Rey goal. The floodgates then opened, with Real Madrid’s attacking prowess on full display. Young Turkish talent Arda Güler, making his debut for the club, added his name to the scoresheet with a stunning goal, also his first in the competition. The comfortable win allowed Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti to give valuable playing time to several fringe players, further highlighting the club’s extraordinary squad depth.”It was a good opportunity to give some of the players who haven’t been getting as many minutes a chance to shine,” Ancelotti said after the match. “They all performed well and showed that we have a strong squad.”

Real Madrid will now await the draw for the next round of the Copa del Rey, where they will face tougher opposition as they continue their quest for another trophy.
