Rebirth of the Blasters: Joe Paul Ancheri Sounds the Alarm for a Desperate Win
Kerala Blasters Secure First Win of Indian Super League 2024-25 Season
Kerala Blasters have earned their first win of the Indian Super League 2024-25 season by defeating East Bengal 2-1. Former captain and India legend Joe Paul Ancheri says this win was necessary for Blasters who lost the first match.
Ancheri, responding to Reporter TV after the match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi, stated, ”Blasters made a good comeback. Because victory was essential. Despite losing the first game, Blasters had said they would bounce back. It has happened.”
Although they could not score in the first half, Blasters showed a good performance in the second half. Ancheri explained, “Blasters played a good game after conceding the goal. Changes were made from the first game. The coach’s vision is to discover and correct the team’s weaknesses.”
Ancheri was reacting to Blasters’ loss against Punjab FC in the first game of the season. He noted that the first game in a tournament was a bit difficult for all the teams and expressed his belief that the team will win this time.
The Hornets made a stunning comeback against East Bengal after trailing by a goal. In the second half of the match, East Bengal took the lead with a goal scored by Vishnu PV. Then Noah Sadoi and Kwame Pepra scored, securing the win for Blasters.
In the absence of captain Adrian Luna, Blasters came under Milos Drincic this time as well. A win in front of their home crowd was essential for the Blasters, who had to overcome the fatigue of the loss against Punjab City FC in the first match.
