The Reality of Recharge Card Prices
Contrary to popular belief, none of the telecommunications companies operating in Egypt have announced any increase in recharge card prices. Instead, they have introduced new category cards, which have been misinterpreted as price hikes by customers.
Sources within the communication sector have denied any increase in recharge card prices or internet packages, dismissing the rumors circulating on social media as completely false.
Recharge Card Prices Remain Unchanged

Mobile companies have not issued any official statements regarding an increase in recharge card prices, and the National Telecom Regulatory Authority has not released any official statements confirming or denying the rumors.
Previous Recharge Card Price Increase
The last increase in recharge card prices occurred in January 2024, with the following changes:
- The price of a 900-minute and megabyte card for 28 days increased from 35 EGP to 38.5 EGP.
- The price of an 800-minute and megabyte card for 14 days increased from 21.5 EGP to 23.65 EGP.
- The price of a 450-minute and megabyte card for 7 days increased from 11.5 EGP to 12.65 EGP.
- The price of a 625-minute and megabyte card for 7 days increased from 15.5 EGP to 17 EGP.
- The price of a 225-minute and megabyte card for 1 day increased from 6 EGP to 6.6 EGP.
