Lucca Anime and Games Festival⁢ 2024 Breaks Records

The Lucca ⁣Anime and Games Festival 2024‍ has concluded with a record-breaking 275,000 tickets ‍sold, ⁣making it the ‌third most visited​ Anime and Games⁣ Festival in history.

This ‍year’s festival saw an impressive ‍turnout of 16,000 certified ⁤professionals, over 900 guests, 660 exhibitors, and 150,000 unique users watching 1,500 scheduled events on‌ Twitch. ⁣Additionally, many ⁤attendees enjoyed ⁣the activities in the ⁣free area, which ‌featured 14 exhibitions.

Emanuele⁤ Vietina, director of⁢ the Lucca Comics and​ Games Exhibition, expressed his enthusiasm for ‍the ⁣event, stating, “This is an‍ extraordinary exhibition. It is ​one of the largest exhibitions in history, reaching unprecedented‌ levels in terms of content, ⁤art,‌ and sales.” He emphasized that the most important aspect of‍ the festival is engagement.

Mario Pardini, mayor of‍ Lucca, added, “Lucca‌ Animation Games has spread its wings and rekindled⁢ the renaissance of our city.” Nicola Correa, president of Lucca, also praised the ⁤event, while Nicola⁣ Lucchesi expressed his​ gratitude to all staff for their “excellent work.”

This year’s festival was marked by several anniversaries, including the ⁢half-century commemoration of Les Humanoïdes Associés, publisher of ‌the‌ role-playing games Dungeons &⁢ Dragons and Métal Hurlant. The event also saw increased international‌ participation, ‌with foreign correspondents covering 13 countries and regions.

Looking ahead to the 2025 ‍exhibition, which will take place from October 29th to⁢ November 2nd,‍ the organizers are already ‌making ⁣preparations. In the⁤ meantime, they will be ⁤hosting “Amano Corpus Animae” in Milan,⁢ a large-scale exhibition celebrating the art of visionary master⁣ Yoshitaka Amano. The exhibition will feature over 130 original ​works‍ from his Tokyo studio and will be open to the public until March​ 1, 2025.
