Red Bull F1 Representative: Considering George Russell
Christian Horner has addressed the ongoing speculation about Red Bull Racing’s driver lineup for the future. The topic resurfaced at the Singapore Grand Prix.
Horner spoke about Daniel Ricciardo’s future and the team’s other seats in an interview with Sky Sports F1. He stated, “We are pursuing all the options. We continue to consider it, but obviously, there are other big projects beyond Daniel.”

“We have about a month’s break before the next race, so it makes sense to consider and review all options for the second half of the year.”
Horner discussed the Red Bull program’s history of offering opportunities to young drivers, including Alex Albon and Pierre Gasly. He highlighted the success of multiple world champions Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen.
“The Red Bull system demands results and performance. Obviously, Max is delivering. Sergio Perez has underperformed this year, but he did a good job last year. We did a good job to take second place in the championship. Red Bull also won the constructors’ championship.”
Horner emphasized the importance of looking ahead and considering talented drivers from within the program, such as Liam Lawson, Franco Colapinto, Oliver Bearman, and Kimi Antonelli.

“We have Issac Hajjar, who was leading the F2 championship until recently, and in F3, we have a very promising young driver in Arvid Lindblad. There is a lot of depth in the junior program. The natural time will come.”
Horner hinted that Mercedes driver George Russell could be a potential candidate, saying, “It would be foolish not to take that into account. There are also other talented drivers whose contracts expire.”
Horner’s comments follow reports that Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff is targeting Verstappen. Wolff expressed interest in having Verstappen join the Silver Arrows before naming his favorite pupil, Antonelli, to replace Lewis Hamilton in 2025.
