The Start
The start in Singapore was clean, with Lando Norris keeping first place over Max Verstappen. Pérez had a great start, gaining three places and moving from thirteenth to tenth ahead of Albon, Tsunoda, and Carlos Sainz.
Pérez was placed behind Franco Colapinto, who he attacked for a few seconds in the first period but could not pass. “He’s very good, he’s hard to pass,” praised Pérez, who acknowledged the Argentine’s defensive skills.
Beating Colapinto in the Pits
Unable to pass Colapinto on the track, Pérez used a strategy to try to overtake Williams from the Argentine. On lap 29, he went to the pits to install the hard compound and came out in 14th place, as the other cars were very close. Two laps later, Colapinto completed his stop and came out just behind Pérez.
Red Bull’s strategy with Pérez was good to overtake the Argentine, who had a good racing speed.

Returning to the Points
Thanks to the following pit stops, Pérez returned to the points in tenth place. Pérez was able to support Nico Hulkenberg, but was never able to pass him. The Mexican driver reported on his radio about a lack of traction, which left a clear message between the lines: today Pérez’s Red Bull had no more rhyme to squeeze out.
For the final stretch, Pérez contacted Hulkenberg again but to no avail. So he had to settle for 10th place in the race and managed to add just one point in a weekend where, once again, McLaren gave a clear beating when Lando Norris took a lap from Sergio.
