Manchester United Dominates Barnsley in English Football League Cup
Manchester United secured a spot in the Round of 16 of the English Football League Cup with a resounding 7-0 victory over Barnsley in the third round on Tuesday.
In other matches, Crystal Palace edged out Queens Park Rangers 2-1, while Brentford defeated Leyton Orient 3-1. Southampton outlasted Everton 6-5 on penalties, and Stoke City beat Fleetwood 2-1 on penalties. Sheffield Wednesday also secured a win, defeating host Blackpool 1-0.
Manchester United’s Dominant Performance
At Old Trafford Stadium, Manchester United took control from the start, finishing the first half with a three<a href="https://www.newsdirectory3.com/ronaldo-multi-goal-man-utd-beat-arsenal-3-2-epl-3-game-draw-escape/” title=”'Ronaldo multi-goal' Man Utd beat Arsenal 3-2… EPL 3 game draw escape”>-goal lead. Marcus Rashford opened the scoring in the 16th minute, followed by Brazilian Anthony’s penalty kick in the 35th minute. Argentina’s Alejandro Garnacho sealed the third goal in stoppage time.
In the second half, Garnacho continued to shine, scoring his second goal and Manchester’s fourth in the 49th minute. He then added the hosts’ fifth goal in the 58th minute.
Danish Christian Eriksen scored the sixth goal in the 81st minute, before netting his second goal and Manchester’s seventh in the 85th minute.
