Red Sox Extend Kristian Campbell Through 2034

BOSTON – The Boston ⁢Red Sox have locked up infielder Kristian Campbell, a top prospect⁣ in their institution, with an‍ eight-year, $60 million contract⁣ extension, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan. The‍ deal includes two club options that could raise the total value to $100 ⁣million.

Contract⁣ Details

Passan⁤ reported the contract includes club options for 2033 at $19⁣ million and 2034 at $21 million. If both options are exercised, ⁣the total guarantee would reach $100 million over 10 years, allowing Campbell to become a free agent at age 32 in⁣ 2034.

Currently,four players are ⁤under contract with the franchise beyond 2030: Brayan Bello (2030),Garret Crochet (2031),rafael Devers (2033),and now⁣ Campbell (2034).

Campbell’s Performance

The infielder showcased a strong bat ⁤in 2024, hitting a combined .330 with a .439 on-base percentage and a .558 slugging percentage across High-A and⁤ Triple-A. In 115 games, he tallied 20 home runs and 24 stolen bases. He also led the minor leagues in Weighted Runs Created Plus (WRC+) with a ⁤180 mark, while ranking second in on-base plus slugging percentage (.997) and fourth in⁤ runs scored (94).

Campbell’s speed on the basepaths was⁤ also evident, as he stole⁣ 24 bases in 115 games last season.

Potential Outfield
