Redd Kross and the Evolution of Garage Rock at White Eagle Hall

Redd Kross and the Evolution of Garage Rock at White Eagle Hall

December 1, 2024 Catherine Williams - Chief Editor News

Redd Kross Documentary Screening at Monty Hall

White Eagle Hall’s shift toward garage rock and power pop included Redd Kross’s visit in July. The California band promoted their self-titled album, a top pick for the year, blending punk, British psychedelia, Beatles-inspired tunes, hair metal, and alternative music. The documentary “Born Innocent: The Redd Kross Story” will screen at Monty Hall on December 22. WFMU deejay Evan “Funk” Davies will host a Q&A with Dan Epstein, co-author of “Now You’re One of Us: The Incredible Story of Redd Kross.”

White Eagle Hall and WFMU’s Connection

2024 marks a strong collaboration between White Eagle Hall and WFMU. Since 2017, White Eagle Hall has featured acts that resonate with WFMU’s audience. Recent events have closely aligned, highlighting guitar-pop and influential music styles. WFMU’s deejays encourage individuality, not conforming to trends. This synergy may enrich Jersey City’s music scene in the upcoming year.
