Liverpool Manager Arne Slot Praises Federico Chiesa’s Performance
Date: September 26, 2024
Liverpool manager Arne Slot shared his thoughts on Federico Chiesa’s performance after the team’s 5-1 win against West Ham United in the 2024-25 Carabao Cup 3rd round match.
Federico Chiesa Makes Starting Lineup Debut
Arne Slot gave Federico Chiesa, the Italian national team striker and Euro 2020 champion, his first start for Liverpool. Chiesa had previously come on as a substitute in two games, playing one minute in the UEFA Champions League and 18 minutes in the Premier League.
Arne Slot’s Assessment of Federico Chiesa’s Performance
Speaking about Chiesa’s performance, Slot said, “It’s good to see he played 60 minutes. I said in the previous press conference that he didn’t play much. He may not have played at all in the last 3-4 months, so for him, the important thing is to get playing time.”
“He got help. Although it was the shot on target that gave Diogo the goal, he worked very hard. And I think it’s normal that he’s not at his best yet.”
“He has to be familiar with the club. He has to get used to his teammates. He has to adapt to his style of play. It’s great to see how fit he is. And we will be able to use his services again if necessary.”
