Brisbane, Australia – The Lions recovered from a shaky start to overpower the Reds, securing a resounding victory after an error-prone first half. Hunter Paisami spearheaded the Reds’ initial surge, but the Lions found their rhythm and took command.
Early on, the Lions struggled with handling errors and missed opportunities. They conceded the first try when Reds’ Toomaga-Allen lunged over the line, followed by a prosperous conversion from Harry McLaughlin-Phillips. The Lions responded with a try from Freeman, converted by Russell, but the Reds quickly struck back with Josh flook scoring after a Kalani Thomas grubber kick, putting the Reds ahead 12-7.
