RedOne Announces New Album Celebrating Moroccan Heritage & the Africa Cup of Nations
International producer and composer RedOne has announced a new musical album celebrating Moroccan Amazigh (Berber) songs with an African flavour, intended for a global audience. The album is timed to coincide with and celebrate the spirit of competition and festivity surrounding the Africa Cup of Nations finals.
RedOne described the project as “unprecedented,” blending conventional Moroccan rhythms with contemporary musical styles and international melodies. He emphasized the album’s aim to highlight Moroccan identity and foster musical dialog with cultures worldwide.
The album features contributions from a diverse range of artists, including Moroccan singer shaima Abdel Aziz and actor Omar Lotfi, who assisted with translation and ensuring the authenticity of the lyrics and accent. Other attendees at the press conference included artists Salma Rachid and Mehdi Mezzine.
RedOne highlighted the artistic mix of Moroccan ”rap” and “pop” within the album, showcasing the richness of Morocco’s musical and cultural heritage. He stressed the project embodies a spirit of openness and unity, mirroring the atmosphere of major sporting events like the Africa Cup of Nations.
