Redwood Coast Gymnastics Shines at 2026 Regional Championships

Redwood Coast Gymnastics concluded its spring season with a series of medal-winning performances and personal bests at the 2026 Regional Championship meets. Representing Humboldt County, the team competed in two primary championship events during April 2026.
On April 18-19, 2026, 12-year-old Momo Baxter competed in the Level 6 Regional Championships. Baxter secured a fourth-place finish with a score of 9.375.
Additional team members traveled to Park City, Utah, for the Xcel Gold Regional Championships. Four athletes from Redwood Coast competed in the Utah event, which featured more than 2,300 gymnasts.
Road to Regionals
The regional appearances followed a successful qualifying stretch in March 2026. The team first competed at the Level 6 State Championships in Visalia on March 21, 2026. This was followed by the Xcel Gold State Championships in Rancho Cordova, which took place from March 27-29, 2026.
Six athletes qualified for the regional championships across those two consecutive weekends of state-level competition.
During the Level 6 State Championships in Visalia, Momo Baxter earned a 36.225 in the all-around. Her performance included a 9.45 on the uneven bars and a standout routine on the beam, surpassing the 34.00 qualifying threshold.
The organization also saw activity from its Xcel Silver team, which competed in the Norcal State Championships in advance of the Xcel Gold events. The Xcel Silver squad included gymnasts Laura Barkdull, Cara West, Zoey Long, and Annika Dieker.
