Independiente Heads to Uruguay for Preseason Kind Tournament
Buenos Aires, Argentina – as the current season winds down, argentine soccer powerhouse Independiente is already looking ahead to 2025. The club has confirmed its participation in the Serie Río de la Plata, a prestigious preseason friendly tournament taking place in Uruguay in early January.
The “King of cups” will play two matches between January 12th and 19th against opponents yet to be announced. Confirmed participants include fellow Argentine clubs San Lorenzo,Unión,Instituto,and Gimnasia de La Plata,as well as Uruguayan side Progreso and Chile’s Universidad Católica.
This will mark Independiente’s first appearance in the Serie Río de la Plata, which is entering its fourth edition. The tournament serves as a valuable warm-up for many South American clubs as they prepare for the upcoming season.
