TUCUMÁN,argentina – The Regional Book Fair has officially opened its‍ doors in the Lola Mora space of the Cultural Entity of tucumán,located at San Martín ‍251. The fair, featuring independant ⁣publishers, authors, booksellers, and writers from across the province, is part⁢ of​ the May 21 letters festivity and the 18th Mayite ⁤of the ‍letters.

Arq. humberto Salazar, president of the cultural entity, emphasized ​the importance of reading⁢ in contemporary society. He stated that “the reading ‌of a book today is an ‌act⁢ of resistance. It requires⁢ an effort that is worth it ‍as it activates mental processes that ‌one, in a dispersed way, fails to‍ achieve.” Salazar ⁣added, “This May is ​taken by the lyrics, with activities ‌that cross literature, music and theater, and ⁣a diverse offer that includes books for childhoods, adolescents and adults.”

Silvia Camuña, ⁣director of letters of the cultural entity, noted⁤ that “the Regional Book Fair enables the democratization of access to cultural goods, and ⁣contact with⁢ the authors of the region.”⁢ She further commented, “Reading always produces‍ meaning, and ⁣we intend to reach girls, boys, youth and adults with activities, ⁤even those who are​ far from written culture.”

Participating publishers include sending editions,⁢ Red Puerta, Amauta, Aguacero, Lyrics, Eduss, ⁣monoambiente, Edunt, and the Miguel Lillo Foundation (Rougés Cultural Center).
