Manchester City has reached an agreement with AC Milan to sign Netherlands international Tijjani Reijnders for £46.3 million (€55 million). Reijnders, a midfielder known for his goals and assists in Serie A, is expected to sign a five-year contract at Etihad Stadium.
The club is actively seeking to reinforce its squad ahead of the Club World Cup, tho officials emphasize they will not rush into transfers solely for the tournament. The early registration window closes June 10,but teams can also add players between June 27 and July 3.
City’s first Club World Cup match is scheduled for June 18 against Wydad Casablanca in Philadelphia.
In addition to Reijnders, Lyon playmaker Rayan Cherki and Wolves left-back Rayan Ait Nouri are also key targets for the club. ait Nouri, who has two years remaining on his Wolves contract, is valued at a minimum of £50 million. Cherki tallied 12 goals and 20 assists for Lyon this past season.
