‘Relooted’ Game Focuses on Heisting and Returning Cultural Artifacts

A new heist game, “Relooted,” challenges players to steal and return priceless artifacts to their original cultures. South African developer Nyamakop, in collaboration with mooncat Games, revealed the game during the Day Of The Devs Summer Game Fest showcase.
Each mission in “Relooted” unfolds in three stages. First, players scout the museum to pinpoint the target artifact. Next, they infiltrate the building, devising a quiet escape route while avoiding guards and obstacles. they grab the artifact and flee along the planned path.

The game features real-world artifacts currently housed in Western museums. Each in-game item includes a biography detailing its origin,the culture it came from,and its importance.
One example highlighted during the Day Of The Devs presentation was the Ngadji Drum,used by the Pokomo people. Discovered in Africa in the 1870s, British colonists stole the drum in the early 1900s and sent it to a museum.One hundred and fourteen years later, the Pokomo king’s brother saw the drum in storage during a museum visit.
The Day Of The Devs presentation also showcased other upcoming indie games, including “Big Walk” from House House and “mixtape” from Beethoven & Dinosaur.”Snap And Grab,” an ’80s-themed heist game, and a new look at “Possessors” were also revealed.
“Relooted” is slated for release on Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. A specific release date has not been announced.
