Remco Evenepoel has secured a lifetime partnership with Specialized, committing to race on the California-based company’s bicycles for the remainder of his professional career.
The agreement, confirmed on Thursday, April 23, 2026, builds on a relationship that began during Evenepoel’s junior years and has continued through his rise to Olympic and world championship success.
Evenepoel, who turned 26 earlier this year, stated that Specialized has supported him through victories, setbacks, and every stage of his development, creating a foundation of trust that made the lifetime deal a natural progression for both his racing career and future endeavors.
“I’ve worked with Specialized since the beginning of my career,” Evenepoel said in a press release. “They’ve been there through the wins, the setbacks, and everything in between. We have complete trust in each other, which is why this lifetime agreement feels like a natural step, for my racing career and beyond.”
The Belgian rider emphasized that knowing he will have Specialized’s support throughout his career gives him confidence as he pursues remaining goals, including winning the Tour de France and returning to the top step at Liège-Bastogne-Liège, a race he has won twice before.
Specialized founder and CEO Mike Sinyard described the partnership as more than a marketing arrangement, highlighting Evenepoel’s embodiment of the brand’s core values.
Remco isn’t just a champion. He embodies the spirit of why I started Specialized in the first place – hard work, integrity, resilience. With every ride, he pushes us, challenges us, and makes every bike we build better for every rider.
Mike Sinyard
Sinyard characterized the deal as “a belief without an end,” reinforcing the long-term vision behind the collaboration and referring to Evenepoel as “Remco forever.”
This season, Evenepoel has competed for Red Bull-Bora-hansgrohe after transferring from Soudal Quick-Step, yet he has continued to ride Specialized’s S-Works Tarmac SL8 in road races and the S-Works Shiv in time trials, maintaining consistency in his equipment despite the team change.
Evenepoel’s recent form includes eight victories in the 2026 season, most recently winning the Amstel Gold Race on Sunday, April 20, 2026, as he prepares for his primary objective of winning the Tour de France in July.
The lifetime agreement places Evenepoel among a small group of elite cyclists who have established long-term ties with a single equipment brand, though officials note this may be the first formal lifetime commitment in professional cycling.
Previous examples of long-standing brand loyalty include Peter Sagan, whose association with Specialized followed him across team changes to Bora-hansgrohe and later TotalEnergies, and Demi Vollering, who retained her Specialized equipment when moving from SD Worx-Protime to FDJ-SUEZ.
Evenepoel’s double gold medal performance at the Paris Olympics was achieved while riding Specialized bicycles, further underscoring the success of the partnership at the highest level of competition.
The deal reflects a broader trend in professional sports where top athletes seek enduring partnerships with brands that align with their personal values and performance needs, moving beyond traditional sponsorship models toward deeper, career-long collaborations.
