Beloved Mayo man, Gerry Rochford, Passes Away at 70
Ballina, Co. Mayo – Gerard “Gerry” Rochford, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully at University Hospital Galway on December 13th, surrounded by his loving family. He was 70 years old.
Born in Scraugh, Aclare, Co. Sligo, gerry later settled in Gortogher, Cloghans, Ballina, where he built a life filled with love and laughter. He was a devoted husband to Sheila and a cherished father to stephen and Ciara.Gerry was known for his warm personality and infectious smile. He was a pillar of his community, always willing to lend a helping hand and offer a kind word. His loss will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
“Gerry was a true gentleman,” said a close friend. “He had a heart of gold and always put others before himself. He will be sorely missed.”
Gerry is predeceased by his parents, Attracta and Tommy Joe, and his sister, Carmel.He is survived by his loving wife Sheila, his children Stephen and Ciara, his siblings Caroline, Breda, Moira, Joseph, and Colm, as well as a wide circle of extended family and friends.
Funeral Arrangements:
Gerry will repose at Hiney’s Funeral Home in Crossmolina (F26 DH95) on Sunday, December 15th, from 4-6 pm. A requiem Mass will be held on Monday,December 16th,at 1 pm in the Church of the Assumption,Ardagh (F26 PP78),followed by burial in Crossmolina Cemetery.
The family requests privacy on Monday morning. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to palliative care.
