Beloved Westport Mother of 15, Mary Duffy, Passes Away at 89
Kilmeena, Co. Mayo – The close-knit community of kilmeena is mourning the loss of mary Duffy (nee O’haire), a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who passed away peacefully at her home on December 14th, surrounded by her loving family. She was 89.Born and raised in Clooneen, Mary was a pillar of the community, known for her warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering devotion to her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, remembered fondly by her 15 children, 39 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.“Mom was the heart of our family,” said her son, Peter. “She always put everyone else’s needs before her own and had a way of making everyone feel loved and special.”
Mary was predeceased by her husband, John Duffy, her parents, Mary and John Joe O’Haire, and her sister, Sheila mcdonnell. She is survived by her devoted children, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, her loving sister Margaret Keane, brothers Sean, Liam, and Vincent, sisters-in-law Catherine and Maureen O’Haire, May Corcoran & Christina Reidy, as well as a large extended family of nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.

Community Mourns Loss
Mary’s passing has left a void in the kilmeena community. Her warm presence and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
“Mary was a true gem,” said a longtime neighbor. “She was always there to lend a helping hand and had a kind word for everyone. She will be sorely missed.”
Funeral Arrangements
Mary will repose at the Kilmeena Community Centre on Tuesday, December 17th, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Her funeral Mass will be held at St.Brendan’s Church, Kilmeena, on Wednesday, December 18th, at 11:00 am.
