Obituary for Tyrone “Ruzzie” Davis
Tyrone “Ruzzie” Davis, 80, of Parkesburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on November 5, 2024, at Chester County Hospital. He was born on August 19, 1944, to Leroy and Alfreda Porter Davis. Tyrone married Dolores Parker Davis, and they enjoyed 45 years together.
He received his education in the Coatesville Area School District and attended James Adams Elementary School. Tyrone worked at Luken’s Steel Company and Embreeville State Hospital before serving in the U.S. Army. He was a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne and a Military Police officer, earning the Parachutist Badge and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. He was a member of the American Legion and formerly a member of the VFW Post while living in Nevada.
Tyrone loved to travel and explore his roots. He enjoyed visiting Indian Reservations, building model cars and puzzles, listening to Old School R&B music, and shooting range activities.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores; son, Tyrone Darin Davis; sister, Mercedes Hills, and her husband, James; grandchildren; sister-in-law, Donna Savage, and her husband, George; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Frank and Leroy Davis, and his sister, Sharon Davis.
Service Information
A public viewing will be held at 9:00 AM. The funeral service will start at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 2, 2024, at Emmett Golden Hunt Memorial Chapel, INC, located at 427 E. Lincoln Hwy, Coatesville, PA 19320. The service will be live-streamed on the chapel’s Facebook page. Masks are optional, observing moderate COVID protocols.
Tyrone will be interred with Full Military Honors at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Anneville, Pennsylvania.
