Remiremont Hospital Dedicates Pediatric Waiting Room to Late Doctor

The Remiremont hospital center recently held a ceremony to dedicate its pediatric waiting room to the memory of Doctor Philippe Dulucq, the former head of the service and pediatrician who passed away in October 2023. The waiting room, now officially named “Salle Philippe Dulucq,” was long referred to as “the boat” due to its distinctive wooden structure.
Family, including his wife Annie and children, attended the dedication to honor Dr. dulucq’s legacy and his impact on the hospital and pediatric care in the Vosges region.
Redesigned Room Aims to Comfort Young Patients
Artist Lori Valdenaire redesigned the waiting room with a pirate theme, creating a colorful and engaging habitat for children and their families. The room features comic-inspired wall frescoes,a treasure map,and other nautical decorative elements designed to ease anxiety.
According to Doctor Mabrouk Bengrina, the current head of the pediatric service, the renovation aims to transform the hospital visit into a more positive and reassuring experience for young patients, reducing stress upon arrival.
A Lasting Legacy of Caring
During the dedication, Doctor Stéphanie Chevalier, president of the Establishment Medical Commission (CME), spoke of Dr. Dulucq’s commitment and lasting impact on the hospital. She noted that the waiting room serves as both a memorial and a welcoming space, embodying his vision for compassionate and personalized pediatric care.
