Renault has introduced a cargo van version of its Renault 4 EV, designed for commercial use. The van configuration replaces the rear seats wiht a plastic load tray and lashing hooks,increasing cargo space to 1045 liters and providing a maximum payload of 345kg,according to autocar.
Optional Features and Customization
Customers can opt for a mesh bulkhead for added security. Depending on the market, additional features may include rear door and window locking mechanisms, an anti-slip load bay mat, or a privacy cover for the cargo area. Unlike the skoda Enyaq cargo variant, the Renault 4 Van does not have tinted rear windows as standard, as reported by Autocar.
Powertrain Options and Range
The Renault 4 Van is available with two powertrain options. The entry-level model features a 118bhp front-mounted motor paired with a 40kWh battery, delivering a range of 191 miles and a charging time of 30 minutes for a 15-80% charge. A more powerful version offers a 148bhp motor and a 52kWh battery, extending the range to 254 miles; it also has a faster 100kW peak charging rate, though the 15-80% charge time remains at 30 minutes, according to autocar.
Availability and Pricing
Currently, the renault 4 Van is under evaluation for sales in the UK. In France, pricing starts at €29,300 (approximately £25,000 excluding VAT), as stated by Autocar. The conversion from passenger vehicle to van is carried out by Renault’s Qstomize customization service at the Maubeuge plant in France, where the Renault 4 is manufactured.
