In a candid conversation on the podcast Good hang with Amy Poehler back in May, Rapp shared a delightful anecdote about her mother, Denise Rapp. She revealed that her mom intentionally chose her first and last name, both starting with “R,” with the hope of paving the way for a prosperous career in music. “My mom chose my first and last name to be-well, okay, arguably chose my first and last name to both have R’s,” Rapp explained to host Poehler. ”She was like, ‘Alliteration, just in case she wants to be a pop star’… I’m obsessed with the way she did it. I’m like, ‘Thank you, God.'” This charming insight into her upbringing adds another layer to Rapp’s relatable and authentic persona.
