Capcom‘s upcoming “Resident Evil Requiem” will revisit the series’ original narrative, set to launch feb. 27, 2026, marking the 30th anniversary of the franchise. After recent installments like “Resident Evil 7” and “Resident Evil Village” explored different storylines, “Requiem” brings players back to Raccoon City and the shadowy Umbrella Corporation.
Masato Kumazawa, producer for “Resident Evil Requiem,” said the game aims to commemorate the series’ anniversary by returning to the roots of the “Resident Evil” universe. The game will explore the current status of the Umbrella Corporation, which was last known to be bankrupt.
Another classic “Resident evil” story thread that “Requiem” will link back to is the “resident Evil Outbreak” series. The new protagonist, Grace Ashcroft, is the daughter of Alyssa from “Outbreak,” providing a personal connection to the events in Raccoon City.
