REVO International Biofuels to Power World Athletics Championships Tokyo 25

Tokyo will aim for a new standard ‍in sustainability, as the World Athletics Championships ‌Tokyo 25 will use⁣ liquid biofuels supplied ⁤by REVO International Inc. ‌The company, a biofuel producer, will be an official event supplier for the championships.

The partnership ‍underscores the event’s commitment to environmental responsibility ⁣and it’s “Tokyo Model,” designed to guide future global sporting events toward sustainability.The World Athletics Championships Tokyo 25 are scheduled for Sept. 13-21, 2025.

REVO International will ⁤provide its Sustainable ⁤Aviation Fuel (SAF), derived from recycled cooking oil sourced across Japan. The company’s biodiesel⁢ fuel, “C-FUEL,” will also be used. The Local Organising Committee (LOC) views this collaboration as central to its sustainability plan.

The LOC aims to create an event that “Giving hope for tomorrow and developing steps towards⁣ a sustainable future,” according⁢ to ⁣its Master plan. REVO‌ International’s work converting waste into energy aligns⁢ with​ this vision, promoting a⁤ circular economy.

Tetsuya Koshikawa, president of REVO International Inc.,said the company is honored to ‌contribute to the championships. He added that REVO International began⁤ developing its biofuel technology ⁢after COP3‍ in Kyoto.The company has been producing and distributing “C-FUEL” for years⁢ and‌ has now begun full-scale‍ production of SAF using a patented process.

Mitsugi Ogata, president of the LOC, said Revo International is a strong partner in achieving the WCH Tokyo 25⁤ Sustainability Plan.‍ He​ added ⁤that the⁣ event aims ​to set a new⁣ global standard for international sport thru environmentally friendly‍ and sustainable practices.

The World Athletics Championships Tokyo 25,⁤ featuring more than 2,000 athletes from about 200 countries, will be held at the Japan National Stadium. ​Tokyo previously hosted the event in⁣ 1991. The championships hope to inspire and transcend boundaries with the motto “Every second, SUGOI.”
