Revolutionary Sound: AirPod Pro 2 Earns FDA Approval as a Game-Changing Hearing Aid
Apple’s AirPods Pro 2 Receive FDA Approval for Hearing Aid Function
Apple’s wireless earphones, AirPods Pro 2, have received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for their hearing aid function, which is expected to be helpful for users with mild to moderate hearing loss.
According to industry sources, the FDA approved hearing aid software for use without a prescription in Apple’s AirPod Pro 2 earphones. This software is designed to amplify sounds for people 18 years of age and older with mild to moderate hearing loss.
The FDA has previously approved over-the<a href="https://www.newsdirectory3.com/sony-launches-its-first-over-the-counter-hearing-aids-in-the-us-engadget/" title="Sony launches its first over-the-counter hearing aids in the US – Engadget”>-counter hearing aids in 2022, but this is the first time it has approved software. The hearing aid function of AirPods Pro 2 is designed to work by amplifying sounds such as voices and reducing other sounds such as noises.
AirPods Pro 2 will soon be able to turn into hearing aids in the U.S. with a software update. Users will take a hearing test on an iPhone or iPad running Apple’s new mobile operating system, iOS 18, and AirPods will instantly and personally calibrate the sound to the right level for proper hearing.
Apple plans to release AirPods Pro 2 as hearing aids in more than 100 countries and regions, including the United States, Germany, and Japan, this fall after receiving marketing clearance from health authorities in each country.
