“Even when you’re at your limit, this is it…” Easy microwave recipes
Many households keep prepackaged rice on hand for emergencies or when they suddenly run out of rice. Many people also make use of prepackaged rice because it can be cooked in the microwave to give it a freshly cooked taste.
Lawson has introduced a recipe for “Kimchi Fried Rice with Packed Rice” that can be made by simply heating the packed rice in a microwave. This is a convenient dish that can be cooked in the rice pack, reducing the amount of dishes to wash.
Materials
- 1 pack of pre-packaged rice (Koshihikari rice was used in this post)
- 1 egg
- 50g kimchi (I used “authentic aged kimchi” in this post)
- 1 teaspoon chicken stock powder
- 1 1/2 slices of bacon (3 slices of “half bacon” were used in this post)
- Chopped green onion (optional)
- Nori (seaweed) (optional)
Instructions
- Peel off the film from the rice pack up to the indicated line and microwave at 600W for 1 minute (1 minute 10 seconds for 500W).
- Open the film halfway without removing it, and use a spoon to make a hole in the center of the rice.
- Crack an egg into the hole, add chicken stock powder, and mix the egg with the rice while beating it.
- Add the bacon and kimchi cut into bite-sized pieces to 3 and mix well.
- Cover with plastic wrap and microwave at 600W for 1 minute 30 seconds (1 minute 50 seconds for 500W).
- If desired, sprinkle chopped green onions and nori seaweed on top and it’s done!
The post also advises people to keep an eye on the eggs while they are being heated in the microwave, and to ”mix the yolk and white thoroughly” to prevent the eggs from exploding inside the microwave while heating.
This quick and easy recipe, which can be made at home with just what you have, has garnered over 3,000 likes. Comments include, ”It’s great that you don’t even need to use plastic wrap,” “I think I could do this even when I’m at my limit,” “Looks delicious,” and “I want to eat it.”
