TCL Unveils NXTPAPER 5G Smartphones with Eye-Pleasing Displays
TCL has announced the “TCL 50 NXTPAPER 5G” and “TCL 50 PRO NXTPAPER 5G” smartphones, featuring an eye-pleasing NXTPAPER display that combines the best of LCD, organic EL, and electronic paper.
The NXTPAPER brand features a unique NXTPAPER 3.0 display that represents an evolution of electronic paper, providing a paper-like texture that reduces eye fatigue.
The smartphones are powered by MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoCs, with 8 GB of memory and storage capacities of 256 GB for the MUJI model and 512 GB for the PRO model.
The screen is equipped with TCL’s unique NXTPAPER display, featuring a 6.8-inch FHD+ (2460 x 1080) resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
The smartphones feature an NXTPAPER button on the side, which launches “Max Ink Mode” and changes the user interface to resemble an e-book reader, allowing for a focused reading experience.
The rear camera has a triple-lens setup, consisting of a 108-megapixel main shooter, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera.
The built-in camera is 8 million pixels for the unbranded model and 32 million pixels for the PRO model.
The battery capacity is 5010mAh, supporting 33W fast charging, with a standby time of 26 days and the ability to read 4 hours a day x 7 days in Max Ink mode.
The smartphones also feature trendy AI functions, including text comprehension, summary, and creative writing.
The PRO model is available in 5 colors: Moon Grey, Midnight Blue, Alps White, Pale Gold, and Rosy Purple, while the MUJI model is available in 4 colors, excluding Alps White.
The TCL 50 NXTPAPER 5G is priced at €229 in the EU, or approximately 35,000 yen in Japanese yen. The 50 PRO will be available in the EU and Latin America for €299 (46,000 yen).
