Revolutionizing British Synths: Unleashing the Fury of PWM’s Malevolent and Mantis 2 Analog Powerhouses
PWM: A New Synth Brand Carrying on the Spirit of Early Analog Synths
PWM is a new synth brand founded by Paul Whittington, who has many years of experience in the electronic musical instrument industry in the UK. Although it appears to be a new company, it is a valuable manufacturer that carries on the spirit of early analog synths to the present day, inheriting the will of the late Chris Huggett, the legendary designer behind WASP and OSCar.
The brand was first unveiled at SUPERBOOTH 2021 in Germany, and the “Hybrid Analog Synthesizer Mantis” debuted at SUPERBOOTH 2023. Then in 2024, with the release of the modular “Pure Analog Synthesizer Malevolent,” domestic distribution began in August.
Malevolent: A Driving Analog Synth with an Extreme Sallen-Key Filter
This is a pure analog synthesizer with a mini-sized 32-key keyboard and an extreme Sallen-Key filter. Its size is just right and it can be powered by USB bus power, making it an ideal model for beginners to modular synths.
