Kazipara Metro Railway Station to Reopen on Friday
The Kazipara metro railway station is set to reopen on Friday, September 20, after being damaged during the student agitation demanding quota reform. Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited has invested around 20 lakh rupees in its renovation.
In addition to the reopening of the Kazipara station, the metro rail will resume its regular operations from this Friday, following the lifting of the weekly shutdown.
Renovation and Operations
Mohammad Abdur Rauf, Managing Director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited, announced that the Kazipara station will be opened from tomorrow. He stated that 20 lakh 50 thousand rupees were spent to initiate the station’s operations, and while many equipment will still require repairs, the station has been launched quickly to cater to the needs of the people.
Regarding the operation of metro rail on Friday, Rauf mentioned that the metro rail will run from 3:30 pm to 9 pm, with headways of 10 minutes, 8 minutes, and 12 minutes, depending on the time.
Mirpur 10 Station Update
A committee is currently working on assessing the damage to the Mirpur 10 station. The extent of the damage will be determined within the next seven days, after which necessary actions will be taken.
Passenger Transport and Revenue
According to the latest figures, passenger transport during the last 19 days was 4 crore 49 lakh 9 thousand 9, with an income of 20 crore 67 lakh 3 thousand 551.
Friday Schedule
The metro rail schedule for Friday is as follows:
- Uttara North to Motijheel route: 3:30 PM to 9:00 PM
- Motijheel Route to North Uttara: 3:50 PM to 9:40 PM
Investigation Committee
A seven-member committee has been formed to investigate the case of the displacement of the Metrorail viaduct carrying pad on September 18. The committee will present a report with necessary recommendations to prevent such incidents in the future. The report is expected to be submitted within the next five working days.
