Revolutionizing Education: Kacho Girls’ High School Takes Center Stage at the Prestigious Wolfram Seminar
Revolutionizing Education: Our School’s Innovative Practices Featured at the Wolfram Seminar
On July 31, 2024, our school’s teacher, Chika Sakai, along with Mihoko Kitamura and Akiko Kanemitsu from Kyoto Notre Dame College, our high school-university partner school, delivered a lecture at the Wolfram seminar “Inquiry-based Learning with the Wolfram Language.” The seminar’s video was released on the official Wolfram Japan YouTube channel in early September.
Maximizing Students’ Potential with the Wolfram Language
Chika Sakai’s lecture, “Programming lessons that maximize students’ potential using the Wolfram Language,” showcased our school’s innovative approach to programming classes. The lecture’s outline highlighted our school’s emphasis on inquiry-based learning, which goes beyond mere knowledge acquisition.
At our school, we’re revitalizing programming classes in High School Information I and information-related electives. This year, we’ve introduced the Wolfram Language and online data science teaching materials, leveraging the Wolfram Language’s visualization functions to create stunning works of art. Our goal is to create classes that unlock each student’s potential, with practical examples and guidance for teachers who may not be programming experts.
Accelerating Information Education with the Wolfram Environment
We’re proud to have been selected for the DX Acceleration Promotion Project (DX High School) in 2024. As a result, our information education initiatives using the Wolfram environment, launched in 2023, are gaining momentum. This partnership enables us to further enhance our students’ learning experiences and prepare them for success in an increasingly digital world.
