Jaewon Shim, CEO of Jaewon Industry
Shim Jae-won, CEO of Jaewon Industries, has led innovation in the field of cutting-edge electronic materials, including developing materials for the battery field, not only for the first time in Korea but also the first in the world.
Jaewon Industries produces solvents and materials for electric vehicle batteries used in the manufacturing process of electronic products and semiconductor materials with strict quality standards through its proprietary technology, and is leaping forward as a global company whose technology is recognized by major domestic and foreign customers.
Established in 1987
Since its founding in 1987, it has built a super-gap technology base through continuous investment and has grown into a materials specialist company that stably operates production facilities in major locations around the world, including Korea, China, Malaysia, Hungary, and the United States.
Market Leadership
In particular, it was the first domestic company to succeed in recycling waste electronic solvents (NMP) used in the manufacturing process. NMP, which is in high demand in various industrial fields, is a core material used in the process of manufacturing slurry for secondary battery cathode materials, and Jaewon Industries is leading the market based on Korea’s largest production capacity.
World’s First Carbon Nanotube (CNT) Conductive Material Dispersion
In addition, the company developed the world’s first carbon nanotube (CNT) conductive material dispersion, which was evaluated by battery manufacturers as a ‘super gap technology’ that dramatically contributes to extending the lifespan and increasing capacity of electric vehicle batteries. In fact, Jaewon Industry’s CNT conductive material dispersion was used in about 7% of global electric vehicle sales in 2023.
Social Contribution Activities
Jaewon Industries also practices the spirit of coexistence through various social contribution activities. A total of 4.4 billion won in scholarship funds was created through the Jaewon Scholarship Association, and a total of 1,020 scholarship students have been selected and provided scholarships since 2002.
In addition, to support the stable settlement and livelihood of marriage immigrants, a multicultural welfare center is being operated after raising a fund of approximately 2.7 billion won.
