Revolutionizing Logistics: CJ Logistics and Aidin Robotics Unite to Create Cutting-Edge Robot Solutions

[디지털데일리 양민하 기자] CJ Logistics announced on the 26th that it signed a business agreement with robot solution company Adin Robotics for the development and commercialization of logistics robot solutions.

Through this agreement, the two companies agreed to cooperate in developing and commercializing robot solutions suited to the characteristics of the logistics industry.

To this end, CJ Logistics provides data including product characteristics and freight volume handled by actual logistics centers, and supports commercialization so that the developed robot solution can be organically applied throughout the logistics process. Aidin Robotics develops and supplies product handling robot solutions tailored to the characteristics based on CJ Logistics data.

The two companies will first develop a ‘piece picking’ robot that picks up and moves individual items. Since the logistics industry handles tens of thousands of different types of products, CJ Logistics and Adin Robotics plan to jointly develop and commercialize a multi-variety random piece picking robot that is suitable for this industry.

AdinRobotics supplies multi-axis force-torque sensors and robot automation systems that apply them based on its own ‘Field Sensing’ technology. In particular, it is evaluated as suitable for the development of logistics piece-picking robots as it possesses gripper and artificial intelligence (AI) vision algorithm technology.

Choi Hyuk-ryeol, CEO of Adin Robotics, said, “Through the partnership between the two companies, Adin Robotics’ logistics robot technology will rapidly spread in all directions, have a positive impact on the market, and produce high synergy effects.”

Kim Jeong-hee, head of CJ Logistics TES Logistics Technology Research Center, said, “CJ Logistics is optimally suited to implementing logistics automation technology, as logistics companies handle a large number of different products every day, which allows them to accumulate high-quality big data.” He added, “We will secure ultra-gap technological capabilities through various forms of open collaboration.”
