Global Wearables Market Heats Up: Samsung Challenges Apple⁤ and Huawei

The Apple ‍Watch⁢ 10 boasts a lighter and thinner design, with a 10%⁤ thinner aluminum case and a 20% lighter titanium case compared⁢ to its predecessor. The⁢ display is also 30% larger than the ⁢previous‌ model.

Additionally, the Apple Watch 10 features improved charging speed, allowing for 8 hours ⁢of use in just 15‍ minutes during the day, and 8 hours of sleep⁤ monitoring with 8 minutes of charging at night.

Health features include sleep apnea monitoring, which analyzes breathing disorder data every 30 days and notifies ‍the⁣ user if signs of moderate to severe sleep apnea are detected.

Samsung Electronics’ Wearables Strategy

Samsung Electronics ranks first in the global smartphone market and AI phone market. ⁢However, in the ‍global wearables market, it is ‍being outpaced⁣ by Apple and Chinese‍ brands.

To counter this, Samsung Electronics plans‍ to target the global wearables market with the introduction of the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra. The company has already started targeting⁢ the ⁢low-end smartband market with the launch of the Galaxy ⁣Fit 3.

The company plans to ⁣leverage AI to strengthen the connection between Galaxy wearables ‌and ⁤Galaxy AI. The new Galaxy Watch‍ series and Galaxy Buds 3 series have already demonstrated this integration.

Park Heon-soo, head of the digital health team at Samsung Electronics’ MX ‌division, emphasized⁣ the company’s⁤ commitment to comprehensive and‍ personalized health management through‍ its wearables portfolio.

The Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy⁣ Watch Ultra feature a sleep apnea function approved by⁣ the ⁢U.S. Food‍ and Drug Administration⁢ (FDA) and the⁣ Korean Ministry⁣ of Food and Drug Safety. ⁤The AI sleep algorithm supports more accurate sleep measurement.

Samsung Electronics ‌also⁢ plans to introduce an extended reality ‍(XR) platform to compete with the Apple Vision Pro. Roh‍ Tae-moon, president of Samsung ⁤Electronics’ MX ⁣division, ‍hinted at the new XR platform’s release this year.

A Samsung⁣ Electronics official ‍stated that the company is exploring ways ⁤to maximize the advantages of its ⁤ultra-compact form factor, which can track and manage health information in⁢ the‍ simplest way.
