Collaboration Aims to Enhance Local Cooperation and Support for School Club Activities
The Okinawa Prefectural Board of Education and the Bukatsu Support Consortium have entered into a partnership agreement to promote regional collaboration and transition of school club activities in Okinawa Prefecture. This agreement marks a significant step towards enhancing local cooperation and support for school club activities in the region.
The Bukatsu Support Consortium, established by the Okinawa Prefectural Board of Education, Sports Databank Co., Ltd., MS&AD Insurance Group’s Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Co., Ltd., and Japan Post Holdings Co., Ltd., aims to provide comprehensive support for school club activities in Okinawa Prefecture. The consortium will leverage the expertise of its member companies to provide support in areas such as securing human resources, materials, and financial resources, as well as operation and management know-how.
The partnership agreement outlines several key areas of collaboration, including:
- Securing human resources (regional leaders)
- Improving the quality of instructors through instructor training and certification
- Establishment of a mechanism for capital flow and operational management
- Addressing local issues in promoting local collaboration and transition of club activities
- Any other matters deemed necessary
The agreement was concluded on September 12, 2024, and marks the first step in the consortium’s nationwide expansion. The consortium will work closely with the Okinawa Prefectural Board of Education to prepare support requests and implement demonstration projects in six cities and municipalities in Okinawa Prefecture.
The six cities and municipalities selected for the demonstration projects are:
- Ginowan City
- Ishigaki City
- Uruma City
- Itoman City
- Nancheng City
- Ginoza Village
The consortium will provide a range of support services, including:
- An educational program for leaders called “Risk Countermeasures e-Learning”
- Information on injuries and liability during activities
- Promoting participation in the JSPO-certified Sports Coaching Leader Training Seminar and obtaining qualifications
- Placing instructors and operational support staff
The partnership agreement between the Okinawa Prefectural Board of Education and the Bukatsu Support Consortium is expected to have a positive impact on school club activities in Okinawa Prefecture, and will help to promote regional collaboration and transition of school club activities in the region.
