Apple Unveils AI-Powered Siri Update for Beta Testers

Apple has released an update to its virtual assistant Siri that brings artificial intelligence to users enrolled in its beta software program. Members of the Apple Beta Software Program can test out new AI-driven updates, providing feedback in return.

A tech enthusiast, Ana, shared her excitement on Twitter, stating, “There is a real need to make the iPhone smarter. Siri is completely out of track, and I’d even say expired in comparison of what we can experience elsewhere.”

What’s New in Siri’s AI Update?

The AI update brings a new design, improved speech understanding, and the ability to text commands to Siri whenever you want. Apple explains on its website, “With contextual awareness, the ability to perform tasks both inside and outside of apps, and knowledge of a user’s many features and settings, Siri will assist users like never before.”

The AI update will be available first in US English, with localized English support coming to Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, and the United Kingdom in December. Additional languages and countries are expected to follow sometime next year.

The initial release will be rolled out with the latest iOS 18.1 upgrade, but the full rollout of all AI features will likely come in a future software update. The exact timeline has not yet been revealed.
