Hong Kong’s Xisha GO PARK: A New Landmark for Sports and Entertainment

The park covers an area of over 1.3 million square feet and features a 1 million square foot diversified outdoor sports park and a 300,000 square foot “park-style sports commercial complex” designed by the world-renowned Zaha Hadid Architects.

The park offers a wide range of sports facilities, including venues for popular sports such as football, golf, and tennis, as well as emerging sports like pickleball and padel tennis. It also features a bicycle path, basketball courts, and rock climbing venues, making it an ideal destination for athletes and families alike.

Xisha GO PARK is committed to promoting the development of sports in Hong Kong, in line with the Hong Kong SAR government’s proposals for popularization, elite development, event-based development, professionalization, and industrialization of sports. The park’s sports director, Zhu Guoting, emphasized the importance of providing professional sports and leisure facilities for families and athletes.

The park has already hosted several sports competitions and events, including fencing, basketball, and volleyball tournaments, as well as concerts and fan meetings. These events have attracted over 15,000 people from home and abroad, showcasing the park’s potential as a hub for sports and entertainment.

During the trial operation phase, the park’s facilities are open to invited groups only, with the aim of testing the practicality of the venue. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, with many visitors praising the park’s diverse facilities and convenient location.

Xisha GO PARK is set to host the first stop of the 12th World Games Tour in 2025, with three events scheduled to take place in October this year. The park is ready to welcome citizens and tourists to experience the excitement of the games and enjoy the sports atmosphere.
