World Computing Conference 2024 Opens in Changsha
On September 24, the World Computing Conference 2024 commenced at the Changsha Beichen International Conference Center. Shen Xiaoming, Secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, attended the event and delivered a welcome speech. Mao Weiming, a member of the Party Leadership Group of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, was present and delivered a speech, while Cao Zhiqiang, Vice Governor of the Hunan Provincial People’s Government, presided over the opening ceremony.
Mao Weiming emphasized the significance of green intelligent computing, stating that it is a new industry of great strategic importance. He highlighted Hunan’s progress in this field, with the total output value of the province’s green intelligent computing industry reaching 715 billion yuan last year, accounting for 7.3% of the country. This year, the total output value has already reached 432 billion yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 19.1%.
Pan Yunhe, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and other prominent figures in the field of computing, including Li Xiang, Song Junqiang, Liu Yongjian, Wang Huaimin, Fan Wenfei, Yang Changfeng, Hu Shimin, Zhou Lingui, Zhou Jinjun, Li Zixue, and Yu Yingtao, attended the opening ceremony.
The World Computing Conference has been successfully held five times since it settled permanently in Changsha, Hunan in 2019. This year’s conference is hosted by the Hunan Provincial People’s Government, with the theme “Computing Smart to the Future of Everything Self – New Productivity Computing”. The conference features 12 special events, 1 innovation competition, and 1 result exhibition, aiming to create a high-end event for the world’s computing industry.
During the conference, the latest achievements in the field of computing will be released, including the “Advanced Computing Industry Development Research Report (2024)” and “2024 Advanced Computing Enterprise Competitiveness Research”. Cutting-edge technology products in the field of computing from around the world will also be showcased.
