Incheon City Launches Nation’s First ‘High-Definition Vertical Image’ Service
Incheon City announced on the 23rd that it will be the first in the country to produce its own ‘high-definition vertical image’ and provide the service through its internal administrative network.
According to Incheon City, the ‘high-precision vertical image’ provided this time was produced through a program within the Geographic Information System (GIS) platform using aerial images taken by the National Geographic Information Institute last year, and has completed security review and quality verification for service provision.
This image complements the distortion and positional accuracy of existing orthophotos to more accurately express the shape and size of the actual terrain, enabling Incheon City to perform efficient administrative work by comparing it with the orthophotos it has built and maintained since 1947.
Benefits of High-Definition Vertical Image
The high-definition vertical image service is expected to improve the accuracy of administrative work in Incheon City. By providing a more accurate representation of the terrain, the city can make more informed decisions and improve its services.
How the Image was Produced
The high-precision vertical image was produced using aerial images taken by the National Geographic Information Institute last year. The images were processed through a program within the Geographic Information System (GIS) platform to create a high-definition vertical image.
Future Plans
Incheon City plans to continue improving its administrative services using the high-definition vertical image. The city will also explore ways to expand the use of the image to other areas, such as urban planning and disaster response.
