N’Dali-Nikki-Tchicandou Road Repair: A Boost to Regional Development
The many inconveniences that users of the N’Dali-Nikki-Tchicandou road face are now a thing of the past. The ongoing repair work facilitates better movement of people and goods in this part of the north.
Joy and satisfaction among users of the N’Dali-Nikki-Tchicandou road. No more fears about taking the axis. The infrastructure currently being built provides greater ease. In an interview given to the government’s communications services, they expressed their satisfaction.
“I don’t even know how to explain the condition of the track because it was full of holes on both sides. It’s so hard. Because of the holes on both sides, the track was damaged, completely destroyed. Now with the condition of the track, I would like to thank the government for this work,” said a user.
“Last year, when traveling, you were even scared because there were holes everywhere. Now, in fact, you can move around as you wish 24 hours a day without any problem. I would like to thank the Government for everything it does. May he continue to do more than that for the country to develop further,” said another.
Gualbert KOUDOGBO, the head of the inspection trip on the site, remembered some of the features of the road. According to him, it is an itinerary in two sessions, but received in one batch. “From N’Dali to Nikki which is 54.6 km, and from Nikki to the Tchicandou-Nigeria border, which is about 33 km. We have 7 new structures to build there. The pavement structure consists of three layers. The first, the base layer which is recycled with linear cement, 1.5%. After that, we have an 11 cm base layer of grave bitumen, and the wearing course 5 cm of high modulus bituminous concrete,” he explained. “It is a very important road that serves the large communities of N’Dali, Nikki and Tchicandou, as well as the royal Palace of Nikki,” added the head of the control mission, reassuring that the work has been completed so far.
The repair of the N’Dali-Nikki-Tchicandou road is infrastructure that improves road safety in this region of Benin. It alleviates the difficulties of transporters, and promotes not only commercial exchanges locally, but also those with neighboring countries, Nigeria in particular.
