Kennedy Jr., secretary of Health and Human Services, has appointed eight new members⁣ to⁢ the advisory Committee⁣ on Immunization Practices (ACIP), the panel advising the Centers for Disease control and⁢ Prevention (CDC) on vaccine policy. The move follows Kennedy’s dismissal of the previous 17 ‍members and signals a notable shift in the government’s approach to immunization.

The new appointees include individuals‍ who have publicly questioned vaccine safety and efficacy, ⁢notably concerning mRNA vaccines.Among them are Robert Malone,who has spread misinformation about mRNA technology,and Retsef Levi,an advocate⁤ for ending mRNA vaccinations. Vicky Pebsworth, affiliated⁤ with the National Vaccine Facts Center, a known source of ⁣vaccine misinformation, also joins ‍the committee.

Martin Kulldorff ⁣and Cody Meissner, while generally supportive of ‍vaccines, have criticized COVID-19 policies. Kulldorff co-authored the Great barrington ‍Declaration,⁤ advocating against COVID-19 isolation measures. Meissner supported ending routine COVID-19 shots for healthy children and pregnant women.
