BAD EMS, Germany – A delegation from TuS Katzenelnbogen-Klingelbach recently participated in the Silberauflauf in Bad Ems, following up on cross-country skiing activities at Herthasee.
The group of five, consisting of Carmen Burgard, Thekla Friedrich, Anja Nau, Manfred Nau, and dagmar Schweickert, all seasoned masters athletes, competed in the well-organized race held on a scenic, albeit windy, course around an island in the Lahn River.
Silberauflauf Results
Short Distance (3.6 Kilometers)
The athletes achieved the following results in the short distance race:
- Carmen Burgard (W50): 1st place, 21:22
- Dagmar Schweickert (W55): 2nd place, 20:33
- Anja Nau (W55): 3rd place, 32:51
- Manfred Nau (M60): 1st place, 20:31
Long distance (7.2 Kilometers)

Frankfurt Half Marathon
The following day, tus KK marathoners thomas Burgard and Marc Ringelstein competed in the Frankfurt Mainova Half Marathon as part of their readiness for the Marathon DM in April.Ringelstein finished in 1:49:12, while Burgard completed the race in 1:30:21.
Further Preparations
In preparation for the Marathon DM, Thomas Burgard also participated in the “Around the Winterstein” run in friedberg, Hesse, a week later. He completed the demanding 30-kilometer Taunusberg route, which includes approximately 400 meters of elevation gain, in 2 hours, 28 minutes, and 47 seconds.
Burgard’s training also included the Rhineland-Palatinate championships over 10,000 meters on March 29 in Alzey‘s Wartberg Stadium. He completed the 25 laps in 41:09.65, securing the title of Rhineland-Palatinate master in the M60 age group.
Siemienowski’s Success
Cornelia Siemienowski, also from TuS KK, achieved success in the Alzey Wartberg Stadium, completing the 800-meter race in 2:31.66,a personal best. This time secured her frist place in the women’s class.
