Robert Downey Jr. Misses Out on Emmy Award
Robert Downey Jr. was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Miniseries for his role in director Park Chan-wook’s “Sympathy” at the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards, but unfortunately did not take home the award.
The award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Miniseries went to Rummon Morris for his role in “Fargo”.
HBO’s “Sympathizer” is a drama series based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name. The story follows a North Vietnamese spy who moves to the United States after the Vietnam War. This is director Park Chan-wook’s second drama and third overseas effort. Robert Downey Jr. played a total of four roles in the series, including a U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) agent, a congressman, a filmmaker, and an educator.
