Children’s Poetry Statement IV: A Celebration of Art and Culture

Through poetry, children express themselves freely and strengthen their emotional connections.

Poetry plays a vital role in children’s education, stimulating the development of new communication skills, enriching language, and improving understanding of concepts. It also awakens sensitivity and fosters a deeper appreciation for art and culture.

The Complementary School Day program and the Comfacauca Public Library in Puerto Tejada recently organized the Children’s Poetry Statement IV “El Cauca y la Palabra”, an event that brought together children from different municipalities in the north of Cauca. The young poets shared their passion for poetry by reciting texts from local authors.

It was a wonderful day, conducive to artistic expression and creativity. The little poets gave free rein to their talent and showed their interest in literature and art in general.

The cultural day also included the participation of the musical group Leave a mark, which charmed the public with traditional Pacific tunes. The event was a class on the art of composing praise, a short verse composition that was staged, enriching and stimulating the children, their parents, and other attendees.

This Children’s Poetry Statement, held at the UDS de Comfacauca auditorium in Puerto Tejada, has become a reference for the promotion of culture and education in the region. It not only highlights the importance of poetry in children’s education but also fosters pride in Cauca’s cultural wealth.
